Rules seem pretty clear to me, he with the pic wins, although the courteous thing to do would be if you visited the site and the cache was missing, to allow ample time for whomever grabbed the cache to post the pic. JMHO.

I agree that if you could somehow know with complete confidence that a missing cache indicates that you've been Bruced you should let the guy with the cache post his grab. However, my concern is that there's no guarantee that 1) the cache wasn't picked up by a citizen prior to you getting there and 2) even if it is still there, you will be able to find it when making your grab.

Thus, I don't think the possession of the cache should play any role in determining who grabbed the tag first. This of course could mean that the cache doesn't end up at the next tag. Not sure what to do about that.

Just my $0.02.

All good points. Here in the valley - the cache is the tag. If someone else (not in the game) happens by and takes the cache, whoever the first person to ride out there and find it missing gets the tag "point". They can then place a new tag and new cache.

That is our game though - let your Hammurabi decide

Ha! I believe I do too, if I had seen this leaving for work I would have made a (somewhat long) detour and grabbed it on the way in, but I left too early and didn't think to check! Ha Ha! gotta learn to slow down, eh?

and the race is on..... (damn work....)

True, but I think this really only works well with our simultaneous Grab&Tag rule.

Next up for your riding pleasure...

Along side a road named after a dead president.

The shoe is behind the guard rail post by the sign.

Nothing like a little early morning...

SNATCH!

OK, so the last one doesn't have quite the same detail as the originators, but Hey, it was 5:20 in the AM, and just a tad on the dark side! Made for a nice little detour on the way in to work thou and knowing exactly where it was as soon as I saw the tag, how could I resist adding a half hour to my commute.

So...I'll have the rusty shoe placed in its new location by 5 this afternoon.. got a shit load of ideas....

in the meantime....it will have something to do with......

"Bacon or Bridges, I can't deside
Where next the shoe will soon reside!"

I must have just missed you (I leave at 5ish at take the GW).

Good grab.

I was concerned that someone would find the horseshoe and throw it down over the hill into the river.

If the location of the horseshoe is easily discoverable, it sometimes helps to cover it with leaves to avoid detection (if there are leaves around)

nice work dudes. i figured things would move nicely when the rain stopped.

I wrote on the horseshoe with a sharpie "leave me be for ADV"

i should have spray painted the thing so it would look better but maybe its ok as it rusts. it has tapped holes in it to screw studs into for mud traction, the equestrian equivalent of knobbies. there is one stud left in the shoe.

i didn't think of the broosing complications that have arisen but maybe it will all work out
