My stock 10/22 has been excellent and flawless for years, no matter what I feed it.

I have a sucky Ramline Exactor .22 that was given to me as a gift when I was 21. It is awful - particularly the shitty mags. Nothing but a dreary series of failures to feed no matter what ammo I use. . .

. . . However I recently tried CCI Stingers in it for the first time, and it is like a new gun with this ammo.

Is it accurate at all with them?

My 10/22 is the only .22 I have that I will shoot the stingers out of, the chamber is loose enough for them.

Keep in mind that the case itself is longer, that being all .22 Long Rilfe cartridges have the brass portion of the case a certain length, and then a bullet a certain length. But a stinger the brass is longer, and the bullet is shorter to keep the same OAL. That long case can get stuck in tighter chambers.

I got the Stingers to use in my 10/22 for varmints and such, and tried them in the pistol out of curiosity. The cheap-o Ramline is sloppy enough that the longer brass doesn't bother it; in fact, I think it improves feeding a bit. The extra power makes the bolt cycle properly. The bolt on the pistol is supposed to lock open after the final shot, and the Stingers are the only ones so far that make that happen.

As far as accuracy: I am a poor shot with a handgun (working on it), and with this pistol in particular. I was bouncing a soda can all over the place while shooting one-handed from about 15 yards, which is good for me.

I don't know why I'm kinda missing this rifle, the only particle use I ever found for this gun was bunnies. It was an extremely sharp shooter though! On the right day, it would group quarter sized groups at 100 yards. That's on a bench not in a vice of any type.

Try some Federal Red box if you can find them, one of the most consistent rim fire rounds I have ever fired. The Winchesters in the old timie lookin box are pretty good too, but the Federals beat them hands down through what I was shooting them.

My new CZ 452 FS .17 HMR

Just found this thread. I got this from Santa this year and it is my first rim fire. I just love the gun, it is a little tack driver
