My Marlin 60 had gotten sticky too. Turns out the bolt buffer was toast so the charging handle was getting slammed back into the receiver. eventually it put a little bulge on the inside and the bolt was rubbing on it.
New buffer was $15 and a file/sand paper took care of the receiver.

Bump because this was on page 2

Been "out" of the gun scene for several years until I ran across this and the "I Love This Gun" thread...caused me to go out and buy two guns in the last month. Picked up a CZ-75 Compact and then yesterday a Marlin 39A...always liked the Marlin's.

So...anybody got a Williams or Redfield receiver sight for a Marlin 39A that they would be willing to part with? I have a Williams that fits a Winchester 94 if anyone is interested.

Yeah, the keychain thing was just poking some fun at it... there's no split ring attachment.

On a different note, I finally got to take it to the range today - just 25 mag & 50 LR shots. After I figured out hold the damn thing, I put these 10 LR shots on an 8.5x11 w/3" target... at 30 ft. I flinched on the two at the edge of the paper. I'm amazed at how accurate this little thing can be... this is going to be fun
