Another nice thing about the GSG is that many of the parts are std 1911 so there are a lot of parts out there to customize it if you like. Some of the 1911 tuning tricks will work too.

Some nice examples here.

I have one as well and can say it is the same size and feel as a 1911, so your holster will work, everything is in the same place. The biggest down side is the mag price...~$30.

They are super fun....and hit what you point them at as well.

I took the P22 out this weekend and tested various rounds through it.

80x CCI 40g MM RN: 2 FTF last round
50x CCI 36g MM HP: 1 FTF (did not pull from mag) 1 FTE
20x FED 40g HV RN: No issues
50x WIN 40g HV RN: No issues
20x FED 36g bulk : 1 FTF (did not pull from mag)

It seems to really like the 40g HV rounds, especially the Winchester Super X. All things considered, I really love this little pistol. I wasn't shooting for accuracy but I was still impressed.

I also got to finally shoot my Charter Arms Explorer II pistol, aka the Buck Rogers gun. These and the AR7s are notorious for feed issues since the feed lips are part of the magazine. I took some aluminum from a coke can and some electrical tape to make a temporary shim on the front of the trigger guard. This pushed up the lips enough to allow the gun to feed. It also likes the HV ammo. It's a fun plinker and super light.

Guess I'll keep it so I have to make a better shim and replace the rear sight.

Mine did surprisingly well. Despite the fact that I was flinching all over the place from being bracketed on both sides by goobers shooting something massive. I dunno wtf those rifles were, but they were making my empties jump jive and roll from the concussion.

Another guy showed up later in the day and pissed and moaned about his .17hmr being all over the place. I think he had his old man with him. The old man didn't have any trouble with it.

My P22 still one of my favorites !! I'm on my third slide.. I see you have the thread protector.
Best pistol IMHO for suppressor use with standard velocity ammo, still "silent"

Remington bulk runs great thru mine.

I'm really interested in the GemTech Outback II, seems to be the best for the money. How long does it take for the application to process?

Once local work is done" finger-prints and background check" federal end is fast, 30 days I guess.

Just to plug> former east coast guy now in Idaho> Tactical Innovations

.22 ammo is some funny stuff, one gun will love it another gun of the same kind will just hate it. This old mauser just loves Remmington subsonic....I originally bought it for an old colt pre-woodsman...it HATED it. Looking for something to shoot it up in so the little single shot Mauser got the duty...Dang this rifle just loved it...hits dead on...makes me look like I know what I am doing. It is a little funny shooting even at 50 yards at steel...bang...................................... ..............................ting.

Yup, just had a guy on the Walther forum say his P22 hates Winchester Super X HV but mine loves it. Just like cars and bikes, each individual gun is a bit different than the rest.

Just got back from the local gun store. I wanted to hold a GSG 1911 but they were out of them. I checked the Ruger 22/45. It seemed pretty nice and @ $249 pretty reasonably priced. Any cons to this piece? What won't it feed? Thanks

I've got both guns, and prefer the GSG.Similar in accuracy and function.Neither like Winchester 555 white box.I just plink with mine. You should be happy with either one.
