Unfired. Fricking beautiful. I held it in my hand. $950.

Other hand was on wallet. You bought it didn't you?

I was definitely scheming. However I have a couple of Hi Standards so it would be a bit redundant. And unfired for 30 years, almost seems sad to break that virginity. However, I would, immediately.

I too like the 41, but if you have one of the target grade High Standards, you have a better gun, IMHO.

It's so good it doesn't even make sense.

I don't know why I cannot find any CCI minimag 40 grain 22LR right now. What the hell!? Did everyone with a .22 go out and buy 10,000 rounds last week?

Perhaps a marketing shift-

CCI is now packaging it in larger 500 rnd bulk boxes- some are marked as "for semi-autos" and has an AR on the box- the other box has got the swamp gator guys on it

I was in the local NFA shop yesterday as they were upping the prices on everything. The AR lowers are tripling in price and the same with p-mags. Good luck finding any type of "black gun" in the next few months. Typically he would have a dozen or so NFA rifles in stock but he can't even keep them in.

Sounds like some of the penetration tests have been noticed.

I also looked at the 41....had wanted one for years, but waited till I had cash in hand to start fondling them....I hated the feel of them....they are so fat. Same goes for the current S&W offerings....they are all very fat.

True. I have long relatively thin fingers, so I don't mind the feel of a 41. On the other hand, I love the feel of a High Standard, either the military grip, or the old slant grip models.

At 865.00 for a H/S Trophy vs 1369.00 for a S&W 41, there is no contest at all, IMHO.

I have an early, 4 digit serial number, first year of production model 41 with both LR and .22 short barrels, counterweights, and target grips. What a beauty! I haven't shot it in a few years but I wanted to chime in with a big thumbs up for the 41 !!
