I wonder if a guy could figure out how to make his own tracers... Looks like all they have done there is painted some tracer on the tip of the bullet.

You'd have to coat the tip with magnesium or some other burnable metal and make it so it'd ignite when fired. I'd be afraid the bullet would jam in the barrel somehow.

Yes, synthetic. Probably about 50 between the 3 of us. I went to the range again last night with my son. I picked up a box of Federal hollow point 36 grain HV. 525 rounds for $12.75. Initially I had not planned on it but my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I can see the target just fine but the front post is blurred. Maybe I'll get a cheap one and see how it goes. It's not a real issue. I'm hitting close enough just not the results I was used to. Quote:
