There's nothing to discuss. He's wrong.

Whadda you expect from a guy who started a "Post your acronyms" thread and failed to post a single freakin acronym?

I thought with 5 minutes to go, and a man up, Chelsea had it in the bag.

I posted "Goal" in jest thinking you'd see the email notification and be on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

How the fuck did I know Chelsea would be stricken by the great English plague of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Anyhow...crushing end to an intense game pressured into mediocrity, although Essien's superb strike was more than worthy of being a match winner.

Chelsea missed some gilt edged chances and that's what they'll rue.

Keepers so often don't get the credit they deserve.
Valdes was superb and the leg stop from Drogba was brilliant...he's gonna be tough to beat in the final.

Agree.

Disagree.

Agree.

Disagree. Valdes' head will be spinning in Rome. Barca's defense isn't great at the best of times. Down three of their top four men, it's going to be an embarrassment.

In top form, give me Ronaldo over Messi any day. Much more of a threat, much more physical, can score from much further out. Heck, they don't even let Messi take the free kicks, while Ronaldo's are becoming legendary.

Doesn't happen very often, though. Penalties are rare. Too rare.

I do think keepers get nitpicked to death, though. The English, especially, seem to dislike it when a keeper punches the ball.

You would too if you had to watch David James do it for as long as they have.

He's fascinating, in a grotesque way. Makes absolutely brilliant saves, best you could ever hope to see, then makes a colossal blunder. Interesting that Capello seems to like him.

Lately, but he didn't use to be that way. This season is the first time he's really showed any weaknesses.

I'm still inclined to blame Scolari. Cech complained that Big Phil wouldn't let him do his normal video preparation for matches. If true, it boggles my mind. Talk about hurting his confidence.

Goalies have fragile psyches and should helped whenever possible. Cech has improved since Hiddink took over. But it may take a while to get his confidence back.

This business of blaming his injury is rubbish. He's just as brave as he ever was when diving at people's legs and feet. As you say, it's the ball in the air that's been giving him trouble. And that's always the trouble spot for a keeper who's low on confidence.

I watched the second leg (boring) but missed the celebration.

What a typical Brazilian chaotic mess! Doesn't take a genius to figure out that flares and flying paper don't mix.

Do you think Arsene Wenger speaks like he has a plum in his mouth?

Do you like listening to how he speaks English?

Then enjoy this link. Click on the words and hear him say them.

If you like hearing him say Gael Clichy, click on the bottom right.

Yeah, Drogba and maybe Ballack will enjoy a game or two from the stands next season.

As they should (Drogba for missing two chances if nothing else). If you had no skin in this game it was actually quite enjoyable. The great thing about soccer is you can out-play your opponents and still lose to a simple defensive mistake.

Chelsea stole defeat from the jaws of victory. I'm actually amazed at how Hiddink turned this team around from what looked like a complete collapse under Scolari (perhaps the F.A. got lucky after all ).
