What a game

Not the result I was looking for, obviously, but boy, what an advert for the EPL. I just wonder how it would have turned out had Stevie been playing (and to be fair, John Terry was missing for the blues so I guess it all balances out).

Congratulations to Chelsea, deserved winners over the 2 legs.

So close....and yet so far.....

Yeah, amazing game!

Liverpool showed a lot of heart, never gave up. Their European "want to" is amazing.

And what a tremendous series between the clubs. This is the stuff of which legendary rivalries are made.

Now Chelsea have to figure out how to stop giving up goals. Seven in two games. That's not going to cut it against mighty Barcelona with their incredibly talented threesome of Messi, Henry and Eto'o.

They'll have to do it without Ashley Cole. And a Petr Cech who hasn't looked right all season. I blame Scolari, who reportedly wouldn't let Cech do his normal videotape preparation for games. If true, it's a completely incomprehensible decision that has clearly affected Cech's confidence. He may not be right gain until next season. I sure hope Bosingwa will be back.

Anyway, a pretty good brace of games for a "boring" quarterfinal between two domestic clubs. Nice job Liverpool, hope you win the League if Chelsea doesn't. Screw Man U. and that diva Ronaldo.

I really do dislike him.

He's a fantastic player, an absolute stud. But I allow his pissiness and diving to really upset me. Seems like most of the time the refs buy it. And when they don't, he pouts up a storm.

Imagine him and Messi on the same team, him working the left and Messi the right.

What do you have against large muscular men, their torsos glistening with sweat and their firm buttocks and thighs pumping with exertion?

I agree, he'd be a much better player if he'd stop acting like Drogba

You're right. I can't understand why anyone would think that's :ymca.

It must be all the bum-patting.

Drogba doesn't pout as much, nor act as entitled.

He does seem to have a balance problem, tho. Probably his feet are too small or something.

Bloody hell, could not agree more.

Fantastic player (the goal tonight was sublime) but what a fucking petulant prick - he's a dick. I am very surprised Man U fans (or even Ferguson - we know how he is about loyalty - ask Jaap Stam) forgave him for all his bullshit last summer with his on/off move to Real.

Stam pissed Fergie off with things he revealed in his Autobiography.
Fergie later said selling Stam was a good financial move, but likely a mistake as he went on to play quite a few good years despite being almost 30 when they sold him.

The irony being, he's back working for Utd as a scout

But I agree, it wouldn't upset me too much if they sold him but I doubt with the economy being the way it is, anyone could afford the asking price.

His temperament is better suited to Serie A or La liga

I didn't know that about Stam - that is funny.

Not a big fan of Ferguson (obviously ) but his loyalty to his players and to Man U is to be admired and anyone who dares to not return that loyalty to him and to Man U is swiftly kicked to touch - hence I just wonder if there was more the whole BS this summer than we heard about in the press

I wouldnt be in the least bit surprised to see him wearing all white next year....

Ronaldo needs to take a leaf out of Rooney's book. Hard as nails and he can dish it out as well as take it but most (all ?) of the time he just gets the fuck on with it - he was limping earlier this game and I have no doubt that was genuine. ROnaldo hits the deck and rolls about in agony if you so much as flutter your eyelashes at him. That's not the way the English/British game is played.
