Or they could have pointed to the bikes and said "Yes, we just rode those here from the indoor ski rink in Dubai."

Sitting in a brew pub on the OR coast, enjoying my lunch, (sans beer), textile pants with suspenders, jacket over on the coat rack, the blonde next to me strikes up the conversation with "How's the fishing?"

I replied "beats me, I'm out motorcycle riding" She does a double take, and realizes the pants are not the usual rubber over pants and clues in. Honest mistake, considering the helmet hair and beard, plus the venue of a port town. Still made for a funny moment.

Off topic, the Rogue Brewery in Astoria, OR has wicked good chowder. Far better than the once unrivaled Mo's. The actual brewery in Newport, OR is equally good and you get the bonus of the tour if you have the time.

I didn't get the memo. Are we over 1,000, yet?

Okay, how's this: "What happened next with the blonde? Did you continue talking to her? She was obviously initiating a conversation. Did you offer to take her for a bike ride? Did her comment lead to a long, deeply-satisfying friendship/relationship that has benefited your life in immeasurable ways?"

Well, I'm sure we're over 205. I retract the question.

Yes, but at that moment, whatever you paid for the FJ, it was absolutely priceless!

I have no idea whether we are over 1,000 (or 205) yet

The blonde was the only interesting part of that long boring story. I bet she was not a "real" blonde. But if she was.....

Well, I'm not one of those guys who believes "pics or it didn't happen." I believe you. I really just wanted to see pics of the blonde. I'm going through a blonde phase after having sworn off brunettes for a while. I'm still open to redheads, of course.

Yesterday, getting gas in in the GSA loaner bike just before I return to the dealer to pick up my bike. I'm wearing full gear including full face helmet. Young girl pulls up in a truck and asks where I work. Thinking maybe she believed I was someone else, I just say, "I'm not from around here. I'm just stopping by the motorcycle dealer." She then asks, "is that your bike?" Duh. She then asks, "what year is your bike and how much did it cost?" At this point, I'm trying to figure out what angle she is coming from as she seems too interested in money (where I work and cost of bike). I ask her why she is asking these questions. She responds about saying something about she likes bikes and then immediately again asks how expensive my bike is. I just told her to head over to the dealer, which was about a block away, and she can ask them all the questions she wants but I don't have time for her. I then rode away without giving her a chance to respond.

I would have been happy to chat about bikes with anyone, but she clearly was working some angle that I haven't figured out yet.

She probably passes the info to a chop shop and the next thing you know you wind up bikeless.
