While gassing up my BMW R12R...
Wow, that's a nice looking bike!
Is it faster than a hiya-boosa?

Not really asked..

I stopped for a red light, and I could hear the anti-lock brakes on a car behind me, that intermittent chirping. Some "girl" was yelling something at me, couldn't make out what is was. Volvo, maybe borrowed grandma's car.

I pulled into a parking lot on my Honda 919 next to a guy talking to his girl, smoking a cigarette. As I was taking my helmet off, he strolls over and says, "Nine hundred and nineteen. Is that the horsepower?"

Summer 1995, MN Trooper pulls me over. We talk a bit about my speed, and then he asks:

T: What's your record?

Me: I've had a few tickets

T: No, how fast have you gone on the bike?

Me: I tell him 145. His eyes get wide.

T: ON THAT!?!?!

Me: it was newer then.

T: What year is that?

Me: 1985.

T: Wow. You keep it in great shape.

I ended up with a warning for way over in a 55 zone, and was told "You've gotta slow down, you are scaring the old people."

You know, beaca83, that'd make an awesome tag line.

Add a link to the post, to explain the story behind it...

That's COMEDY GOLD right there!

Last Thursday, after one of my young coworkers agreed to buy my Ninja 250, we started talking about some the other guys bikes.

He asked me what kind of bike the guy in the next cube had, and I told him it was CBR 600RR. Then he asked how much horsepower it has and I said "I'm not sure, I think just a little more than 100."

He pulled his head back in surprise, paused, squinted his eyes and said "that's it?"

At this point I feel pretty good about his first bike being a 250...

Oh beac83 that comment brings back memories of a poker run in Germany/Austria. I passed a bunch of Harley riders going into the next corner and disappeared. When I got back to the hotel so guy flagged me down. "Are you that crazy bastard on that silver bike?" Yeah, he said I scared the hell of the rider I passed and one almost drove off the cliff. I just laughed and walked away.

It's all fun and games until a Harley goes over a cliff.....

That's quite a stretch to call that a cliff the Harley went into. But I guess titles like that get more hits on YouTube.
