Got to mix it up with some other scale planes, just like Rheinbeck but we get away with more manuvers....

This is the lineup Sat AM. Well, most of the lineup, there were guys up flying already.

You know I had one plane that just seemed to eat cheapo motors....bought an A40 and on the third flight it shelled a bearing...for over $100 I expected better....when the like HK motor is $20. After that I figured screw it....I bet they are all made in the same Chinese factory anyway...after that I went back to the HK motors and picked a different "brand"....so far no problems.

The plane I had it in was a V tail eflight Bonanza. I was just happy I was able to glide it down and land with no damage....love that plane....I keep saying if I ever have to recover it I will do it up like the plane Buddy Holley was in when he died....but after all these years I still have not had to recover it.

Hope this one works out!!

And just got replacement frame parts for Vtail. Hopefully next week will have both back in the air!

I like those Flight Test guys. Thanks for the link.

In other news...

The Crack Laser Lite is a smashing success! My 450 Mah 2S Glacier packs arrived today and after charging them up for a little bit (not a full charge) I was able to get almost 7 minutes of flight time with lots of hovering, full power climbs into tumbles and inverted flat spins, etc. A little heavier than the tiny Nano Techs, but worth it.

Hacker is on the VisionAire. Tried this morning with a 13x6.5. Man that motor is smooooth! Very smooth, zero vibes, very silent. The 13x6.5 was good but the motor came down cold - I think it can do more. Going to try a 13x8 and a 14x6. Also have a 12x8 I will try for the heck of it.

If this motor lasts I will be happy.

New plane day

Just put this guy on order....$220 shipped to my door.
Not real crazy about the paint job but that is an easy fix.

Loving the DX9 . Wireless trainer and voice functions are awesome. I know I'm only scratching the surface of what this radio can do so far as I only have 3 and 4 channel planes.

I want the 9, but I can't justify the cost over my 8. The wireless trainer is tits, but I can't find much else I'd use.

The 8 is a damn good radio. I don't own one but I've used one and to be honest I like the feel of it better than the 9 even though they are supposed to be almost identical. Something in the handgrips and resting your fingers on the back panel of the 8 just says quality to me.

I'm also borrowing an original DX7 (non S version) and both the 8 and the 9 are light years ahead of that radio in fit, finish and programming. I can certainly see not needing to upgrade over the 8 and if I owned one, I don't think I would either. However it was time to dive into the Spektrum side to compliment my Tactic radios and this was the logical choice for me.

Out of curiosity how many flyers out there run multiple protocols? I'm putting Tactic in my scratchbuilds for the cheap, locally available rx's and going with Spektrum because of the large selection of really good BNF craft out there.
