What motor is in your crawler king? Is that 45 minutes of crawling or trail bashing? The reason I ask is that I have a 65 turn Integy motor in my axial and I can get 40-50 minutes of crawling out of a 1600mah Max Amps split pack.

Months late in posting a reply, but it all depends on the motor battery set up and how you run it.
Currently I run NiMH packs in all my trucks. I have a Stampede with the stock 12 turn 550 motor and a Rustler with a 15 turn 540 motor. I have 3600 and 5400mah packs. Just bashing around with the Pede, I get about 25-30 minutes out of the 3600 and 35 - 38 minutes out of the 4500. This is on loose to medimum traction surfaces. High traction surfaces reduce the run times a few minutes.
The rustler get a minute or two less with each pack, except when runing on the beach with the paddle tires. In this case I am lucky to get 20 minutes out of the 4500 pack.

If you are starting from scratch, go with a LiPo compatable charger and if the budget allows, a LiPo battery(s). With any luck, I will pick up a couple 5200 or 6500mah LiPo packs this year. Seeing as my trucks are mostly stock, I should see some very respectable run times out of them.

My Latest Project

Here are a few shots of a small Super Cub I am building. Hope to be covering later this week.

I need to finnish the upper forward wing attach area, then cut out windows. 48" wingspan, 4CH, electric power

Its just the stock 55turn, I was just bashing around the backyard, harassing the neighbor's cat, climbing a pile of construction debris. I ran for 45 min but the pack still had plenty of juice.

Haven't flown in about five or six years. Still have a garage full of everything from 1/2a to 1/3 scale. Couple of the big planes are around 25 years old and still flyable.

Maybe someday, I get interested again. By then, everything I have will be junk and I'll have to start over.

One of my favorite planes. With an 80" span and at 25 years old, it can fly at a crawl. All the rigging is all functional right down to the rudder and elevator pull cables. I have a 120" version framed out in my attic that has a four stroke gasoline engine. When I start back, I'll finish it.

Just got into it this past weekend. This I was told was a pretty hot investment for a pre-built racer. Already burned up the speed control running it in too much snow. The new speed control is now wrapped and water proofed....
