Turbines cost about 2-5K. I've seen twin engine fighters go for 20K. So depending on what he thinks his time is worth it could vary as I think its a custom job. I have seen boat kits that are using jets now. Makes for a cool Mrs. Budweiser.

Nothin like coming to my favorite MOTORCYCLE forum and finding out I have to have a RC airplane. Thanks, it should be here the end of this week. Just what I needed, another hobby I don't have time for.

Hobbico skyfly 2. Never flown a plane before. I was very into nitro trucks, monsters and buggies a few years ago, but the constant repairs and time involved burned me out after awhile.

And you think that planes are going to be any better. Good luck.

Seriously it took me a while to learn to fly airplanes and I did alot of repairing in the meantime. I learned on an underpowered electric that was hard to gain altitude with.

I also have an emaxx but the batteries have not been used in years so they are pretty much useless.

Do yourself a favor and download FMS

Learn to fly on that before you throw any money into the sky...

I wasn't planning on getting very serious with it. Just thought I would give it a shot with a cheap setup. I will download FMS thanks for the link.

Just skip planes and get an electric heli. RADD school of flight and your good to go. After the DRZ sells I might get a 400 or 450 size whirlybird.

I know what you mean. I was up to 7 cars/trucks, 2 boats and 2 planes. I do not have a lot of breakage issues, but just did not use them all. I am now down to the following (all electric);
-- Rustler running a J Concepts body, Sand Paws/Mohawks and a 15 turn Orion motor
-- Stampede XL-5 that is stock aside from RPM carriers and a mid 70's Chevy truck body
-- Axial AX10 ARTR with a 65 turn motor and axle mount split packs.
-- Pro Boats Mini V - Awsome for drainage ponds in the developement!

I do have a Kyosho Blizzard on the way and hope to have a Blade CX3 before the year is out.

Here they are in "waiting for use" position. The boat is just above the helmet.

I am doing airplanes at the moment....well as much as you can when it is sub freezing outside. I have three that I have built that are still waiting for the first flight.

An Eflight Bonanza 15e...with the required V-tail
An Electrifly Fokker DR1 and Nieuport 11...I also have the Spad Xi waiting to be built....I had the spad before but forgot to change models on my trans and re-kitted it.

I also have a pretty big VQ P-39 and a parkzone ME-109 and Corsair, as well as a hand full of GWS planes.

Flying is great, I just wish it would get above freezing so I could get out and fly.

Been there, done that. I got tired of having to charge up the LiPo's and such. I still have my power sailplanes stacked up in the back room.

As for the neck issues, I have that covered! Go get one of these things:

Your neck and back will love you!

The guys I fly with turned me onto these things. It's cool to see 4 or 5 of these chairs lined up with someone sitting in them flying their DLG's. So far the best flight time my friends have gotten is 3 hours on one toss. My personal best is 1 hour 45 minutes off a single throw.
