The Chinese market really made RC heli's affordable with all of their clones. You can get into heli's for around $60-100 for a fixed-pitch single rotor setup and that includes everything needed to fly. Spare parts are dirt cheap as well. That was the biggest problem with heli's back in the day. Heli's were expensive and so were parts.

Not to mention the smallest heli's were still pretty large. .30 which is about 1M in length was your standard heli. By the time you got everything to fly it you'd be in around $1000. You just have to be careful with the little ones as they get blown around in any gusts.

Digging around in the attic for some old Studebaker signs for my brother and I came across our stash of traxxas Emax and whatever twin drive boat they made with the same motors and my old RC sport yacht lookin boat.

Dragged out the chargers and dug up a 1500 nicad battery.

Our son saw it and went berserk, so I charged it up, but it was already dark. No problem. Duct taped a flashlight to it and road our bikes down the pond with him and the boat in tow and night boat was born.

I need to find the other battery so I can get the truck and other boat running.

Not sure if this is 205 or Spam but it sure does look fun, probably euro expensive too. I like the concept, hope they open source it for the 'droids.

Side note, the bright blue thing at the far end of the field, is the wave pool, where the ocean rescue scenes were shot in the movie "The Guardian"
