I used to be into the cars, but now I prefer to be in the air.

My current build

I had taken the week between Christmas and New Years off so I could get some stuff done around the house along with some build time on this. Then these 2 came along and blew that plan to hell....

The back was bugging me so I opened the tailgate and added a couple of support bars

You can see the start of the fuel cell also. It's so tight on the chassis for everything that the battery is hidden in the fuel cell

I then shot some test color to see how it looks. Most of it will be sanded away anyway I just couldn't resist

It does not appear to be any one make/model. Appears to be, as many scaler crawlers are, assembled from various items.

Difuser, how about some info on teh various parts such as axles, trans, frame and body? What battery / ESC / motor do you plan to run?

Champaign, Illinois. This year is Feb 11th and 12th. My dad and I are going to fly in it again this year. If you're close, it's a really fun time. Little kids can make a glider for free that they keep and they get to go out on the floor and "fly" them all at the same time (which is really fun to watch). The last 2 years I've won a free Spektrum reciever and micro servos (about $80). Even if you don't fly, you'll enjoy watching everyone else, see what the vendor's bring, the competitions like "full contact combat", pylon races, helicopter "smack down" etc... Oh yeah...don't forget the crashes.

Neato!

I'll have to mention it to my bud.
We've done SMALLs in AR, a couple of times, and SEFF in Americus, GA a few more.
A few more miles north to check that out, would be cool. Thanks!

Speaking of winning...
I won an E-Flight RV9 at SEFF a couple years ago, and parked it on the shelf with the rest of my collection.
I decided last week I wanted to give my "free" Taylorcraft some company to fly with...
So, I fired off an order to Hobby king, to give Turnigy products a try.
Turnigy Park 480 motor, and 40A BESC, Turnigy micro servos, and thier Orange Spektrum 7-channel receiver to control all the chaos.
With a lipo tx pack to replace the old DX7's NiCad pack, and a programmer for the ESC, and shipping, total was $118...
I remember the previous year when I "won" an E-flight Taylorcraft, (pictured previously in this thread), I dropped prolly $2-$300 or so for all the needed running gear, bought onsite @ SEFF, and mostly name brand.
Interested to see how this one will perform.

Good place for motors, ESCs and such - http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/StoreFront

I get just about all of my power stuff from them. I like how they have tested the motors with different props / batts and provide thrust results. Used there Speed 450 on a Mini Ultra Stick with the suggested prop and the thing would accelerate vertically.

So i got my new 9 channel radio and hooked it up to the AT-6 and took it out for taxi tests. I mistakenly reversed the throttle setting instead of the elevator servo and when it took off, I panicked and ran it into the curb. One of the mains bent, but other than that the plane is fine. Ready for its maiden flight tomorrow.
