Thanks for the link, I would think that Tower would have a lot more from the huge books I used to get from them. I am surprised they are so cheap nowadays too, I remember them being expensive but I guess those would be the pro kits. I would definitely like one that I could take outside, though. I will look into it, could be a cool new hobby to get into.

Oh yeah! Really could have used one of those last winter when we got snowed in pretty good once.
Tower has been cut back on what they carry. I remember the big books too. I think I still have a few around someplace.

Heli's you remember are probably the .30 Class which are around 3-4ft long. To get started it used to cost around $1000. One reason heli's are cheaper is because there are a lot of Chinese clones. I use clones and not knockoffs because they are built to pretty high standards and are as good if not better. A lot of the mini and micro heli's are from China.

I think heli's got a rediscovery when the Air Hogs Havoc heli's started coming out too.

If it hasn't been mentioned already.

You guys should check out www.rcpowers.com
The guy has a bunch of PDF files on his website that you can buy for a few bucks and use them to build your own planes out of foam plastic. It's great since you can smash 'em all you want and all you do is print out another page and cut out a replacement.

Also they've got a bunch of vids on youtube of his wacky experiments.

I forgot about him! I love how he explains everything as he's doing it.

IIRC, he sells the foam he uses as well.

I just picked up an GP Spad XIII, I am half way into putting it together. Very nice little plane.

Does anyone know where I can get an F-104 Starfighter, for a reasonable price?

That's one of the fighter jet models I've wanted so bad out of everything, but all I've ever been able to find was some lousy push prop foam profile model.

Tamiya is bringing the Rough Rider back (as the RC Buggy Champ), which is basically the same car as the Sand Scorcher which is one of the holy grails of rc. I am really crossing my fingers they break out the old molds and bring the Sand Scorcher back even if they call it something new too.

Even has original looking packaging

It's a little disproportionate, but I can definitely live with that.

I hope to see a Super Champ as well as a few others reappear. Tamiya always had the nicest presentation box as well as cool instruction books.

Another example of "If you have a big enough motor, you can make a brick fly."

That thing looks REALLY twitchy. Hope you have experience flying or it will be a very expensive lawn dart.
