I acquired a slash 4x4 recently , man , with stock gearing and 2s Lipo , this thing is an animal . I borrowed a 3s Lipo from a buddy and put a 19t pinion in it , damn near ballooned the tires of the rims ! Lol
Look up mods for the driveshaft , with it properly covered , the smallest rock with end up in your spur and you will be replacing it , or the entire slipper clutch , the motor will not show it any mercy . I replaced the slipper with center diff and kings head motor mount ( allows for bigger bearing in the rear ) cause you will blow that stock bearing , it will not take the abuse from the brushless setup

No, 35C constant, 45C burst. For what I run, conservatively geared Traxxas trucks with VXL / Hobbywing / Tacon brushless setups, they have more than enough power. You are talking the ability to pass 270 amps at burst or 210 amps constant. I do not race, so even these packs are overkill, but the run time is huge.

When I first started in RC cars, you we the man if you had 1500mah Nicad and they cost more than these 6000mah lipos do!

I still have some red packs from back in the day....then I remember when the black 1700's (i think) came out and man you are crazy.

A while ago I took out my old RC10 and ran it with the new buggies, still brushed motors, old ESC....I even ran the old Futaba radio I had from back in the day. I could gear it to the moon...extra weight of the buggy made it very steady, and it was VERY quick.....motor came off a little hot tho

I've been playing with a little $20 dollar cheap plastic music making RC hummer.

It's about time I upgraded

Is there a place where I can pick up a good offroad car for cheap. I don't mind used. I really like the proper offroad car look like these.

Define cheap. The closest you are going to get, unless you find someone selling their scale build, is am Axial SCX10.

Ready to run http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBWEP&P=ML

Kit (more items needed!) http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBWEP&P=ML

The big question is what you want to do with your RC. If looks are the and overall performance is not, the scale trucks are very good. If you want some thing to bash around with, you cannot go wrong with a Traxxas Stampede (VXL prefered) in either 2wd or 4wd depending on your budget.

Looks are more important and I am not going to bash it around at all. thanks for your advise.
