Agreed. Plus the sleeveless gear was cool. Who me? I won't crash.

Yeah, not like I was there either, but looks to me from the pics like one guy was over so at fault, BUT the other guy sure looked CLOSE, maybe even overhanging the line. One guy running wide, other guy early apex, not good at all. So the guy running close may be in the right, but was almost "dead right".

The guy taking a nap in the middle of the road probably didn't help things

Ma & Pa on the red Hardley are waaayyy over in the left lane in the first pic

Can't even see the line in the pic

The impact appears to be right on the line, they were almost back in their lane

Possibly the guy who went flying, dodged left but they went the same way

I think the fat boy on the fat boy needs a can of plexiglass cleaner

To clean his porthole

What porthole you ask?

The one in his belly so he can see 'cause his head is so far up his ass

What I notice is that the post impact picture has the rear wheel of the red bike on the line with the front pushed back towards the camera. I would say if not in other lane wheel wise was by bike width. BUT if you have even limited line of sight did you not see this coming and do an evasive dodge. Perhaps that was done and we do.t see the evidence. Perhaps the bike coming from the right was so out of shape it would have collected the other bikes regardless. Part of the hazards we all have to watch for.

Dang. That was a major kerfuffle. Astounding the way the bikes crumpled on impact and interesting to watch people and ejecta fly in the sequence of photos. In the one photo here, the guy on the silver bike is grabbing a big handful of brake (can't tell what he's doing with the footbrake) and his passenger is really tensed-up-- look how knotted her muscles are. They just ran over the crasher who is in the blue shirt. He did not have a good day.

EDIT: Trashcan (a couple of posts down), you're right-- they did miss him, but just barely. It's hard to tell when all ya see are flailing arms&legs&arms&legs...

The whole sequence of photos is in the thread linked to:

The most amazing thing? A major crash like that and only four replies. Not a'tall like ADV...

Two people look at the same photo and have different takes.

Looked to me like he was behind the bike.

That sequence of photos was amazing in an educational way.

This one in particular got me thinking...

That boy is lucky NC is a helmet state since if it wasn't he might not have been so equipped judging by how the helmet doesn't fit the look of the rest of his "gear."

So which one got flown to the hospital?
Looks like there was a lot of opportunity for quite a few people to get badly hurt there.

One bike cutting the corner close, the other maybe lost it early into the turn and was already crashing when the red bike piled into it.

Or had to "lay er down" to "avoid" a possible crash because he was running wide and meeting the red bike?

Hope everyone involved heals up, as much as we poke fun at the fails I hate to see anyone get hurt in a crash.

Well if they haven't healed up in the last 4 years then it was probably worse than we thought.

Glad everyone had helmets on vs Little Native head wraps as it appears there was some significant skull dribbling

Hey, let those who ride decide.

I ride, and decide to wear my helmet every time. In case I run out of skill, traction and luck all at once.
Or someone else does.
