In the 1st pic, the red Ultra is so far into the wrong lane, that you can't even see the line. If you look at it in the next photo (which is just after 1st contact) it is angled to its' right, near the center line.

I would bet that upon seeing each other, both operators took evasive action by veering towards the center line (the red bike when right, the other to it's left)....in other words, they both zigged in the same direction.

Mr. Mid Life Crisis on his fancy new Ultra is a moron.......

Looks to me like the red Harley was over the center a very short distance in a place where there was no center line. Two ADV posts say he was so far over the line that the yellow line doesn't even appear in the photo.

Looks to me like the yellow line stops for a short section. You can see the yellow line restart in picture 2 here: http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.c...2021-post.html .

There is also a black "drip" line in both photos. These can admittedly wander around on the road, but it looks like the red bike was about the same distance from the drip line in all the photos.

Red Harley riding left of center -- fail. Silver/gray bike riding on or over centerline -- fail. But the photos don't show the red bike all that far over the line.

Crash speed was what on this twisty road on parade bikes?
They were probably doing 15 to 20 mph at the very most coming out of the turns.

Falling into the trap of target fixation, no counter steering skills(gotta be quick) and fear of the front brake all played into this one imo.

Cee-gar, butt plug.

These people don't "see" gear as part of the riding equation.
Riders that venture out with little or no tools on the bike is another grand display of competence.

That is, for those without a Honda.

And look at the twisting/deformation of the Red bike's forks, fender and fairing, as well as the side-loading on the tire.

The driver of the Silver bike had already Laid 'Er Down, as well as Didn't Touch That Dangerous Front Brake to avoid this mishap.

Full dress HD with two "bikers" on it? 400 pounds of rider and 800? pounds of bike? A pair of those beasts going 20 would be like running a Civic into a wall at 40.

I don't think you'd need much speed to do that.
