It looks like the guy on the red bike was riding fat, dumb, & happy in the center of "his" lane with no thoughts of what could be coming around any of those blind curves and no thought of an escape route. Not smart riding.

He reported, "I have 10 broken ribs and 2 broken vertebrae." A riding coat with an upgraded spine protector might have saved those vertebrae. An air bag vest or coat might have saved the ribs as well as the spine. We gray-hairs don't heal as well as we did when we were younger, and more protection is smart.

OK, we can laugh because it was 4 years ago and everyone seems to have lived. Bete's comment about both wanting to be in the driver's seat sure made me laugh. I think the first shot was after the bikes had hit, collapsed both forks, shattered the red bike's shield and pilled papa's hand off the right grip. the down bike must be spinning after impact.

I am impressed by the pecs on the skinny pillions and the degree of gonadal crush underway with papa.

I am not trying to be impolite here but when I enlarged the photo to get a look at maw maw's tat, she seemed to grow a gray goatee too. This just starts to get weird. Try it.

I'm not gonna touch that one. You're way up in Alberta. You're safe. I'm close enough that Ma and Pa and the Motorcycle Driver's Club can come and whup me. No way.

Glad you pointed that out, a lot going on in the photo. Funny that the rider never mentioned any issues with the jewels, looks like they would be the worst hit.

That's where I shop.
I don't go in for all the "people of walmart" mockery most of the time because I often resemble those folks.
But I can proudly certify that this location, my own personal wal mart, now we can get some ferris wheel operators in there I tell ya.

Yeah, more pace left in the tire, just not in the rider.

I could feel the rear just starting to "walk" a bit sidewards on me if I gave it too much throttle while leaned over (for an overweight 1100 bike, the R1100S has some good low end torque).
That was the rubber saying- OK old man, make me slide much more and you're gonna' feel metal, plastic and leather sliding.

And yes, some LARGE hard parts were in very close proximity to the asphalt too. Didn't want to feel those cylinder head protectors touch down- it would not have been a smooth landing. New Hampshire Speedway has a couple of rough transition turns where the RR course leaves the NASTYCAR oval. I can only imagine the slam and ensuing loss of traction.
