Ya know what, you all are right.

I'm sorry for interrupting your discourse.

Thinking about it, this entire thread is about ridiculing others for their mistakes. Pointing fingers and laughing. An overall feeling of superiority because someone else's mistakes were caught on film.

By saying it's ok to laugh at bikes with car tires and pirates with tassels and bikes going over the double yellow but NOT at people who crash I'm being a hypocrite, the guy who blows the corner in front of killboy might blow one down the road and end up crashing, and it's purely by luck that there wasn't an oncoming car when said rider did blow the corner.

And by trying to express my opinion that it's not ok to laugh at others misfortune in an entire thread dedicated to laughing at others misfortune, I should have expected what I was going to get.

There's no feeling of superiority involved. This is the forum version of America's Funniest Home videos and everybody gets to be the host.

Hey, get it right...I was just guessing about your weight.

My choice was either keep banging my head against the wall, or trying to explain what this thread is about. It was less painful with the wall, but since we are a big band of brother riders, here goes.

We are NOT laughing at others as much as we are laughing in the face of the gods that it isnt us in those pictures. We are also relieving the pain and suffering some of us have gone through having done EXACTLY those same things we are commenting on.

We are also making fun of pirates, because, well, we know THEY are wrong, and we are perfect.

We do not want to see anyone get maimed or killed, but most of us have crashed, or had good friends crash. We want the message out that you can minimize some of the pain and suffering by wearing all the right gear. Do you not sit around the fire at the end of a ride and make fun of your buds? This is no different than that.

You keep going on about that one sequence of shots with all these whatifs. Well, those whatifs didnt happen. yes, riders were hurt. They werent killed and the ones hurt posted the damned pictures themselves. Can you 100% guarantee to me that whoever takes those pics would even post them if they found out that someone was killed? I doubt that they would. Drop down into the Mulholland copy-cat thread and talk to that photog. he posts there. his vids show him running to assist fallen riders, too.

I was at the overlook last year taking pics of a stunter going up and down the short stretch. When he biffed it, finally, we ran and checked on him (he was fine) and when I told him that I didnt have pics of the crash, he was a little mad.

we all fuck up. we mostly all survive and we feel a little better about ourselves when we see others fuck up just like us. we dont feel good about anyone being killed, paralyzed, and really even hurt in the least.

1+ what he said.

And when my picture shows up here, most likely it will be in ATGATT but with visor opened, not looking through the curve all that well, across the yellow in some degree, visor open, jacket not zipped, not covering the brake and clutch, knee out, and who knows what else I will be nailed on. I just hope like the others here that it won't be all those things while sliding down the pavement chasing the sliding bike. But we laugh. It is all about laughing at ourselves... now off the bike I am more the pirate type and everyone assumes I have a harley and that I must have ridden in today so I laugh at them as well as I am laughing with others and with myself.

Should I put some knee sliders on that sparkle when I drag a knee for the photog?

My daughter and son n law gave me a nice red helmet mohawk for my birthday. Perhaps I should put it on as well. Wadda yall think?

Put the Mohaws on the *other* end, that ought to make an interesting photo.
