Stripes are period appropriate and my heart jumped thinking it was the sweet Triumph GT6 but alas, it is just a Spitfire with a removable hardtop.
Still nice though and no fails.
The GT6 had the best 2L, inline, push rod six evah! The engine was a lump when stroked to 2.5L for the TR6 IMO.

That is normal. The early Spitfires has a tendency to tilt out at the top leading to fishtailing fails. Big time!

So the fail here is that he's got car tires on the back?

You, sir, are mistaken. That's not part of his motorcycle. It's his shark fin. He's part of a biker gang, the Sharks, and he's flashing a gang signal to the camera. "When the shark bites"....

Oh, yeah. The transverse leaf spring that flattened out. I remember it well...

Sort of a fail, though nostalgic. Pretty car.

There's a Spit GT6 being posted for sale round these parts somewhere. Shiny Things? I'd have to go looking for it again. Thought that'd be a nice thing to have.

Stripes ALWAYS make a car go faster.
