Has to be wild doing night time runs down the mountain with that thing. What happens when a deer steps out, or worse yet a bear? I'd hate to smack a bear and piss him off...........

And don't forget the shitty advice (again the myth that if you use four fingers you're going to grab really hard) that can only lead to one thing.... "ABS... making bad riders look good"

If four fingers is so bad why is it also taught in intermediate and advanced course? Also holding on with the knees and not the arms is taught as well.

Dug through the blog's directory to get a differnet looky at this thang:

Seems to be a cult Big Wheel® downhill thing on the Dragon.

If the speed limit is posted, and he's not hiding behind something man-made,,,NOT a TRAP.

If it's an artificially low speed limit, it IS a speed trap! The speed limit at the Gap was NOT set by a traffic survey. We're talking about a road with no intersecting roads, no driveways, no anything.

That looks fucking fun as shit, and a bit more stable than the normal big wheels

What no linky? Inquiring minds want to know more about it but are too lazy to search.

So seems like it's been set by the frequency of accidents. Yup, the more speed-related accidents the more the authorities want to lower the speed limit. And there are PLENTY of accidents resulting from people going faster than their skill level allows. As demonstrated on this thread. Since they can't administer road tests to everyone entering the area, instead they lower the speed limit.

Duck and go under. The deer at least.

Most of the accidents aren't due to excessive speed.

And people will speed no matter the posted speed limit.

Sean McMillan, the Marine that died last weekend on the KTM, went into a decreasing radius corner (that has claimed many bikes) a little too hot, got on the brakes hard with a bit too much rear, which made him step out and hit the dirt berm and then the rail. He went over, broke some branches way up in the trees, then fell about 70ft. Some SMJ friends helped put him in the ambulance.

The usual Harley low-sides aren't from excessive speed, as they'll scrub at a walking pace, but the spectacular ones are usually speed related...
