I'm not a fan of the lack of riding gear either, but what a cool bike! Buddy of mine knows him, at least on line. Calls it a RatGuzzi or some such. I thinks it's a neat concept, in an industrial sort of way. I always dig folks riding their own ride, listening to their own drum.

Dragon Death Count

Is anyone keeping up with death and mayhem on the Dragon these days? Killboy seldom notes deaths anymore, not good for business I guess. I have not seen a picture of him or killgurl riding a motorcycle on the dragon for at least a year. I don't think he feels it's safe anymore, even for a local. I have to go to the Daily Times in Blount County to find any info: http://www.thedailytimes.com/archive...ext=motorcycle

• Sept. 28: Sean R. McMillin, 24, of Cherry Point, N.C., was killed in a motorcycle wreck near Mile Marker 7. He was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in North Carolina.
• June 15: Harley Hogue, 53, of Naples, Fla., was killed near Mile Marker 8 after losing control of his motorcycle while negotiating a sharp right-hand curve.
• June 6: John W. Henson, of Carencro, La., was killed when he tried to negotiate a sharp right-hand curve while riding his 2006 Honda motorcycle near Mile Marker 4 and the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and left the road.

• Oct. 22: Judy Hatley Harris, 62, of Wilmington, was riding a 1996 Yamaha southbound behind her husband’s motorcycle.Harris cut into a wide curve on Mile Marker 4, and her motorcycle dropped off the right hand side of the road and could not recover, according Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Cory Russell, who investigated.
The motorcycle laid down and struck a stump, causing Harris to go about 75 feet down an embankment, Russell said.
• Oct. 24 not on the Dragon but just north of it: A Sweetwater man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 129.
According to a report from Trooper Philip Warren of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 4:27 p.m. about a mile from Highway 72.
Frederick Wright, 68, was traveling northbound on U.S. 129 on a 1996 Harley-Davidson at about 50 miles per hour. While negotiating a right-hand curve, he lost control and left the roadway on the right side, entering a ditch and overturning, according to THP.. According to a report from Trooper Philip Warren of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 4:27 p.m. about a mile from Highway 72.
Only one of those was on a weekend, so maybe it's safer to only ride the Dragon on Saturday and Sunday?

More traffic = less speed

Lacking an ability to self-edit speed gets a lot of folks in single-vehicle wrecks (out-riding your ability because you failed to recognize where your ability stops).

Regarding the flat green Guzzi: It's an Ill-annoy plate. So, I contacted my fav Guzzi biker budd in IL with the pix. The story on this rider is that " He's a mile pounder, drives all year long all over the country." So, if you meet him, say "Hi" from all his biker buds in IL.

So basically what you're saying is that he doesn't have a metal grate wind-shield, but rather a metal grate deer deflector.

I still dig the bike and would love to know more about it.
