That is very cool. Finally a motorcycle engine I know how to work on! But those fenders are an anti-climax; look like they are off a trailer or sumthin'.

It has to be heavy as hell with that VW tranny. Looks like a single carbed 2 port 1600. It's interesting that he kept the fan housing.

The VW engine in a BMW was a mid-'60's fad. There was just enough room to shoehorn a VW engine into a /2 frame. Duane Ausherman had one:
