He is a KLR rider that tours (heavily). I don't think it is being an OLD guy nor packing a skull that will add to the embarrassment. He is really well beyond that.

Plus it's a cheapy AFX ~$100 FX37 helmet, I've got one for dualsporting and such, and it's a flimsy piece of junk.

You were robbed. I got mine for $60.

It is a great helmet! Light, good air flow, ratcheted chin strap...

If it's got a ratcheting chin strap, it's probably a FX39, which is also a bit stiffer/stronger than the FX37.

I got mine when they just came out, only DS style helmet the local shop had at the time.

I rock an Icon Variant now, worlds apart.

Nope, It's the 37. It is just the Polaris branded one. I like it. I tend to use my dual sport helmets (if you know what I mean) so they are never around for long.

No way I would ever pay BIG $ for something that will likely make substantial contact with the ground after some gravity induced fun within a few rides.

I look at the AFX 37 like a disposable lighter. Use it, then toss it after is has served its purpose.

For the cost of a cam belt change on a Ferrari you can order a brand new engine at you local marine shop, complete with fuel injection.
