I assemble them with Loctite 515 sealant and no gaskets except for the head gasket. The pushrod tube seals have to have .040" crush minimum. Play with different thickness seals until it's correct. On the earlier engines, the output shaft clutch door seal bears on the shaft bushing and will wear a groove in it. Replace the bushing if it is grooved.

I think that might be the funniest line in the history of TV. I remember watching that for the first time and I was roflol before there was an internet. I seem to remember him hesitating before he said it also, like he really did not want to say it.

Fred and Esther were both horribly vulgar stand up comics before their stint on Sanford and Son so I doubt if the hesitation was anything but him trying to say it without cursing.
