There is also: Moonshiner 28, Hellbender 28, Thunder Road, and Shiner's run. People will get get confused on 28 since they won't know what to call it

I recently spent a week riding the area and was on at least a dozen roads that were twistier and far more challenging than Deals Gap. I didn't see another motorcycle on any of them.

You and Jim both should. The non existent road mentioned above is 25mins from my front door. I'd hate for it to end up the shithole Deals Gap is.

Worse yet it is after the first straight section in 9 miles, and just over a rise, so if you wick it up, I will guarantee it will be a one way ride, and maybe your last.

There is a sign there now, but in the past it didn't exist.

Oh, did I mention they put big boulders in lieu of a guardrail there too.........that is if it existed.

(IMO) you guys posting locations and reports are douches...

Too easy today to search and find this shit, then there goes more roads for MORE cop$ to mop up MORE squids...

And I don't know about you, but I think there's already enough unjustified and biased enforcement up there.

...They need to change some things on their cars around. It should read: To protect, serve, and generate revenue.

Or, in order of importance; To generate income, and oh yeah, protect and serve.

That's some funny shit right there.

Hey everybody let's have a forum dedicated to motorcycles but there's only one rule.

You're not allowed to recommend good roads.

I doubt that most of the really great roads will ever become real popular like Deals Gap because:

1. They don't have a cute name like "Dragon" or "Snake"
2. There are no photographers to document you were there.
3. There is no T shirt to buy to prove to your friends that you were there.
4. The curves are too tight for most of the sportbike/cruiser/touring riders
5. The road surfaces are often not perfect (and sometimes not even paved)
6. Most people don't leave the beaten path, they might get lost.
7. Most riders are not on this forum.

I've been riding the area for years, usuelly for a week at a time. Typically I can ride for a week and not see another bike except on the main roads or in towns.

I'm talking roads like this:

And don't ask me the name of this road.

I swear I had to study that last pic to see if that is the turn right down the road from me. Then I saw the dirt bank on the left and thats not quite right.

But wow I had to do a double take.

But then again I could swear that guy in the Hawaiian shirt on the Sherpa is my dad!

I don't know, but say there Rhode Island... Why don't you ask the ppl that live around there how they like it, and how would you feel if the road right outside your house was turned into it?

I've got roads just like that place up here, and if you think I'll tell you where so property taxes can go up just so they can hire 20 more officers, just so they can write 20x more tickets, you're a dead wrong Yankee.

(But hey, I guess that's what you'd call infrastructure... We call it something else)

we're not talking about some out of the way nowhere adventure ride here...

Most ppl, and it's evident by the motorcycle market, are not into that. What is evident is on-pavement riding. We're talking about the ppl that go out and buy a road bike one day, then proceed to out-ride their limits with it the next.

PS. Why don't you just post a goog maps link of your adress, we'll take care of the rest

Slob-knob Rd, Rhode Island... Home of the best motorcycle riding this side of the Ozarks.

Tee shirts $25... But you gotta see the stickers!

It's a honey hole just like any other honey hole. And if ya don't like the crowd, you shoulda kept yer mouth shut.

Now wait a minute, your the one who wanted to relocate people and businesses so trucks wouldn't interfere with recreational riding on the dragon. Nimby rules?
