It's not really as large a flame as the pic implies.

Yes. One of the reasons the original wankels went away. The new ones are better.

Ohio State Patrol hasn't got a lot of humor, either. Whether MI will enforce their laws is unknown.

I never see much enforcement here in rural areas. Just stating the law on the books. BTW, modern electronic fuel injection eliminates off-idle torching.

At risk of creating more talk and less pitchers, I have a question about the Mazada.

How come it appears periodically that the flames come out one exhaust and not the other?

Is this a wankel thing or do all dual exhausts(that emit flames) do this?

Thanks.

Except when you're running a ton of anti-lag...

I am pretty sure the 2nd gens that have the dual exhaust like that is just a Y-pipe. The exhaust flow will favor one side or the other in most cases.

I had a modified 3rd gen RX-7 that would shoot some fireballs, but that was mainly due to it running really rich. Fun car, just not practical for anything other than a race track. Also, less than 10mpg when in boost running premium gas, not cheap to to keep gas in.

It looks like Red was hugging the line prior to impact.

The full sequence is in the thread somewhere. I don't think it would have mattered where the red bike was in the lane.
