Motorcycles are NOT fun, they are a dangerous but economical way to get from point A to point B, and should never be operated in a frivolous manner.

It's clowns like you who will ultimately cause us to lose this extremely practical method of transportation. I for one have NEVER traveled at speeds in excess of the posted limit, and can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would want to do so.

Rant over.

It helps with parallel parking. You pull up beside the spot you wish to park in. Get out and walk to the front, then lift the car by that shackle and walk it back into the spot. Much easier to do it that way than to try and steer it in there from the drivers seat.

He's not in a military unit in combat, he's in a civilian pickup truck on a sunny day in a tourist area.

It's the tow hook to get winched up onto a flatbed. With some bumpers, a chain to the frame or axle will damage the bumper, so many cars will have a plastic cap that pops off and a bolt with a ring or shackle (included with the car usually) screws in. Sometimes, for track events, you'd be required to run with the hook in place in case you had to get towed off so you didn't waste everyone else's time. I guess adding a shiny replacement is 'bling' these days - makes it look 'racey'.

Other cars may have a hidden hook. I.e., the Audi S4 I used to have had one behind a lower grill in the bumper - pop the grill out and the tow point was behind it.

Race cars have them so track safety can find the tow point quickly and get them out of the way fast.

Ricers have them to look like super-bad assed racing drivers.

Anybody care to guess what factor is working in his favor to have those kind of numbers, aside from the fact that people are speeding.
I saw the trooper on Saturday at 7:30 Am and again at around 7:45 PM. It looked like the same guy. Someone said they saw him at around 6:00 AM. That would be a pretty long shift.
