The thing is that TPL attracts know it alls who think that they are gods gift to motorcycling and they want to spread the word because they are egomaniacs. While the pile ups that result, can be fun to watch, after awhile it gets ridiculous.

Everybody should just consider before they post the TRUTH according to Themselves, that, You Might Be Wrong!

But that allows you to see around the curves.

Hopefully I'm not firing this back up. ( like I know I am ) If that guy rode that GL1800 that fast with a car tire on, all the naysayers need to take a second look.
BTW, I think both GLs have been lightened considerably by scraping both sides in the corners.

The claim of 1000 miles in less than 24 hours up and down Deal's Gap is mind boggling. It came up here before and was validated (at least in my mind) by an eyewitness. I know the guy is fast and would probably smoke me at the Gap driving a real Winnebago but I have a hard time imagining what riding up/down/up/down etc on 129 at that pace for almost 24 hours straight would feel like. Kudos to him.

Has that ever been duplicated on any bike at the Gap? I'm sure someone will eventually do it although it is doubtful they'll do it on a GL.
