What I don't get is it has to take more time and effort to put the beany and face mask on than it would to put on a fullface helmet. With the modulars the task is easier and when necessary you can flip them up so everyone can see your ugly mug.Hell, paint a mean face on the helmet if you want to look menacing and protect the real thing at least.

I guess riding with a shield is so un-cool that putting a mask serves the purpose?

About time for more pictures of stupidity on 129 isn't it?

Just goes to show that some people will buy ANYTHING!

If I ever come across someone on the road actually wearing one of these things, I might crash from laughing so hard.

...another reason to go ATGATT

No, not really.

I suppose I should have quoted Aghartha's signature for the uninitiated.

So much for subtle humor.

It sickens me to think I may have tarnished my online credibility in the highly regarded "Killboy failure" thread.

The original "Nice Helmet"comment was about a photo similar to this one (cropped and without the overlay):

The guy can obviously ride.

If you view photos at US129Photos.com / XtremeSportsPhotography.com, the photos are organized by date. On high traffic days, the photos are broken down into sub-categories. Photos of this guy are always in the "Friends" subcategory. This pic was from October 8th, 2011 Saturday

Sucks to be him; goofing off on the Dragon in his free time.

Now, if we can get this thread back on the rails...
This next gentleman was kind enough to provide enough material to bring this thread full circle:

...face mask, half helmet/brain bucket, Japanese Harley impersonation...

...distracted by the roadside photographer...target fixation...

... crossing the the yellow line, a new target to fixate on??

It's a little late, but at least he's finally thinking about turning! ..."Let's see, turn the handlebars right, lean to the left. No Wait!"

If no one tees him, this might end alright. I mean he's got it straightened out and he's dropping his right foot. He must be almost stopped right?

...right?

Whoa, whoa!

Fail.

This guy couldn't have been moving that fast. These are only eight of the twenty four shots the photographer captured.
He's got his own section under "Crash" October 7th, 2011 Friday

I want to know where I can get some leather pom poms for the ends of my handlebars like the H-D dude has. Maybe a goth cheerleader shop?

I call bad form!

The Jofa face protector was designed to ward off roost and was used before full face helmets were readily available.

Desert racers sometimes mounted football guards wrapped with electrical tape and Pacifico Products came out with the "Face Fender". Kenny Zahrt wore a newly issued Bell Star 120 at the Carlsbad GP around 1973-4 and De Coster started wearing the Bell "Moto Star" after suffering a big crash at Saddleback on the kamikaze downhill that busted up his jaw pretty badly. Geoff Aaron started wearing a type of full face helmet after slamming his face on a boulder in observed trials a few years ago.

Dirt and street are different, but getting hurt is still the same bummer.
