That might be because THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!

That "dude" has lived a life FAR beyond the pampered ATGATT, dealer serviced, Starbucks sucking life style and dress code purported to be "costume de rigueur by" the smooth mouthed cum guzzlers that frequent this thread to pass judgment on all they see.

I'm not sure which is shallower with these judges, the gene pool or the tolerance level.

[Did I say that out loud?] Good.

One more time for good measure.

Problem is they are just too dumb to think about consequences. If I were a cop and saw that, I'd at least stop her for some infraction (e.g. speed limit +1) and inform her that her stupidity can severely injure or kill her child. Wild animals take better care of their young--try getting between a mama grizzly and her cub.

Perfectly legal everywhere in the USA, as far as I know.

Might be legal, but it's still stupid. Can you understand that? Children should be protected from things that can hurt them so badly and so fast.

You fucking damn well know I was lucky! Lucky to have such a cool father who wasn't scared that his kid might, MIGHT get hurt doing something so much fun. Lucky, that I had the coolest Dad around, owned a motorcycle shop, rode bikes, raced bikes, I had the Dad every kid around me wished THEY had. You bet your ass I know I was lucky, lucky I didn't have a worry-wart old fart like you for a Dad. THAT most surely would have been UNlucky.
FF like you make me wanna fucking puke with your worrying sooooooooo much about other people and what they do with THEIR kids to have fun. Your point about "luck", well in case you weren't aware of it, there's also a tiny little thing seldom talked about here called SKILL. My Dad went from 1952 to 1984 without ONE get-off on the street! Hundreds of thousands of miles, most of the time going way over the speed limit, always passing cars over the double-yellow (while never doing so just to "cut a good line" through a set of turns), riding in ALL kinds of weather. Rode to Alaska on a BSA B33 with Mom on the back on their honeymoon (conceiving little ol' me along the way somewhere) in 1958! Oh, they started from Haledon, NJ!! So, was my pop "lucky" that he never crashed with me or Mom (or anybody else) on the back? Yeah. But he was also graced with 100x more skill than most of the asswipes on this site, that do more keyboard pounding than riding and, like you, seem to be busy pontificating on what others should do to keep little snowflake "risk-averse", until snowflake can make an informed decision for him or herself. At maybe something like 19 or so?
I wish that little girl on the back of Moms bike could flip you the salute and tell you to STFU! My hats off to that Mom!
I will admit though that a bit more gear would've been nice.

Happy New Year anyway!

The main thing I was getting at was the photos of the riders in gear but none for their passengers. I'm sure if it's important enough for the rider to be wearing it, it should be equally important for the passenger...if they care about their passenger that is.
plus 1 on that

as if i take my wife on the back i give her the bike gear and i went with out as it was a short ride but we both had proper helmets on.

the uk cops would pull her over becouse they both have no gear on and give then a saftey taking to about the ricks and advise her to gear up.

I was born in NJ and lived there quite a while, but unlike you I had the sense to move far away. Your father had a long accident-free time. Me, only ~50 years, and some of the time riding a LOT faster than your pop, in all probability.

You can tell a person's from New Jersey,
but you cannot tell him much.

Adults are one thing, but kids should be protected--within reason. So here we have man (woman) who is capable of reasoning, not protecting her child worth a damn, vs a bear who cannot reason who provides real good protection.

Happy New Year!
