No it belongs to Vermin, a colorful inmate here. He has several must read threads revolving around "Cack" the motorcycle in the picture.

Cack! Loved those trip reports. Honda should buy that bike from him and give him a job.

Linky above doesn't work, btw.

But damn near all Harley's (and model "T" fords) are black! I believe it's the number one choice in colors.
I mean if you are making a rat bike what other color would you use? A nice paint job on a rat bike just isn't natural.

Absolutely agree - but the paint should get "ratty" due to time, neglect and incidental damage/overspray/etc. Deliberately covering up nice paint with a spray bomb for no other reason seems pointless and, as I said earlier, contrived. Furthermore, if something actually needs painting (unlikely) then a true rat bike owner will use either the cheapest possible paint or the first coating that comes to hand, regardless of color.

Finally - You should not "make" a rat bike. It should evolve, naturally, from a non-ratty bike, due to necessity and (possibly benign) neglect. I suppose it could also include some creative adornment that captures some of the bike or owner's history.

Yeah but there's no new action from "The Tail of the Dugong" and most inmates are stuck inside bored, waiting for the weather to improve (not me BTW - I've been riding every day ).

Besides, this thread has branched off so many times and got away with it, I reckon just about anything goes.

Still, here's a video showing some stupid driving on 129:

The linky has an extra http:// in it. Should be http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265019 and is an absolute hoot to read...

And in the spirit of the topic, here is the picture:

It sure looks to me like the folks straightening that curve, at least in one direction (from right to left on the video) have very clear sightlines and are safely crossing the double yellow there. Pretty harmless behaviour, if you ask me.

it does look like it but hard to tell exactly what the driver/rider is seeing. I have done it on the PCH to pass and just for the fun of it. If you can see way down the road, there is no danger.
