Not just the south, I'm in the Northeast. Most of our roads are curves connected by occasional straight sections, and it's a constant occurance to see vehicles going wide or short across the center lines. Locals and tourists, many times the driver has a cell phone plastered to their ear, but not always.

It's mostly blind turns too, since there are trees and underbrush right up to the edge of the road in many places.
What' really special are the drivers that cut off the pavement on the inside and scatter gravel onto the pavement.

You know they're going to do it, so you learn to allow for it when you set up for a turn.

At about 2:50 in that video, the narrator mentions that the rider at the moment is "Shakey," which refers to Shane Byrne, multiple BSB champ and MotoGP rider.

While these later accomplishments are impressive, in the video I agree that he of course was leaving too little room for error while riding on unknown roads in fairly heavy traffic

This video would make a nice teaching tool for squids and proto-squids. See all the close calls? Where's that gonna lead...

The screaming in the helmet after the crash at the end of the video is a particularly effective moment.

How far over over the double yellow is the back wheel of that bicycle? With any luck it'll spin when it clips an oncoming vehicle.
