It's all a matter of how small and boring a persons life is that dictates what is a tall tale is to them...
The more you know about life, the more average so called tall tales look to a person...

I'm glad my life has never been small or boring because it makes me able to enjoy everyone I meet
stories they have to tell with an open mind....
I think my username might be a clue that I don't stay bored for long.

The difference between this and the HOG, GWRAA and other forums is that here the more you tout your "bonafides" the less impressed people are.

Showing up at an Adv event a few thousand miles from home and tipping back a few beers with your fellow Adv Riders generates much more good will than working in how grand your moto resume is all over the internet.

Linky

Maybe, and on that Note

The man pictured above IS Lee Parks

Lee Parks has been racing for 25 years and won the 2001 G.M.D. Computrack National Endurance Series Championship in the Lightweight class. He also finished 2nd in the 1994 AMA 125GP national championship in its exhibition year. He spent five years as the editor and chief test rider of Motorcycle Consumer News where he road tested every new street motorcycle available in the U.S. and became one of the top performance-testing journalists in the world.

When you can ride as well as him maybe some people will give you some credibility.

When engaging in a battle of wits, it's considered poor form to show up at the metaphorical gunfight with a spoon.

Just sayin...

Thumb Cannonball

In 1972 Dan Gurney did the Cannonball (New York to Redondo Beach CA) in 35hrs and 54 minutes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannonb...al_Trophy_Dash

There was a LOT less traffic back in the day, and Ethyl was still working at the gas station.
And you may notice there were a few "official/non official entries" of motorcycles too.
