Yes, also early in the morning on weekends I think. Also remember the thread makes it look worse than it probably is. I haven't been in years but we are seeing the worst here.
There really are lots of places where you can see many turns ahead when the leaves are sparse on the trees at least.

Still should expect the unexpected I guess. Never know when a truck may be coming through or a crazy local going to work or something.

I always imagined what it would be like to have to go through that road to get to and from work if you had to. I imagine some people do. Like from Robbinsville to Marysville or something.

Mostly. It's a lot better during the week.

Yeah me and my dad went though there in the middle of a Friday and it was nice and quiet and empty. We then went though around 8 or 9 on a Saturday morning and it was mostly empty.

These self righteous types ragging on the lady in question remind me of a guy I used to work with. He was in his mid twenties and could find fault with a friggin runway model.

Of course he never had a girl friend and had probably never been laid either.

A year or so ago I worked in Franklin NC and worked with a guy who commuted from TN via the Gap daily in the very early morning. His comment was "you never get used to seeing the taillights of the car coming at you."

There's a lot of times where that road is nearly deserted. Peak time's still aren't quite the circus it's made out to be. Keep in mind that one week's update is the highlights of 70+ hours of near continuous photography, and the photographers aren't out during early morning/ late evening daylight hours.

Second rider

The dude on the second bike told me he has been riding this road for 60 years.
I guess he has to as he lives there.
