I understand why some want to run car tires and that it obviously can be done. The most valid reason being on a long trip and not wanting to worry about changing tires mid trip (especially when it is during hotter temps) I will also concede that they are fairly safe for the most part and if all you are doing is slabbing away the miles it can actually be a good choice.

What I will not agree with is the lies and myths put for by some of the Dumbsiders stating it is the way to go. That they handle just as good…blah blah blah…

And like this:

UN-possible.

If it were truly a good idea it would be an option right from the factory on the large touring bikes and the engineers would not be laughing at them.

This is not the place to find fellow dumbsiders. They have their own forum where you can go get all the warm and fuzzy back stroking.

You sound like a bunch of evangelist zealots. I wish you could keep to your own church and stop the proselytizing in Killboy. At least start your own thread.

The main reason I run a car tire on the back of my 10' Wing is the run flat capability. That alone makes it safer than ANY motorcycle tire rated for my Goldwing.

that is one of my reasons, but the longevity is also a top reason. 20-40K on a tire? Awesome.
And stock wing tires have been suspect for a long time. Seems they are not rated for the weight of a Gold Wing?

By the look of his pants and the bikes fairings he has come to the same conclusion.

I agree this is a benefit..
So why not run one on the front as well?
