I did not miss your point. You missed mine, if any of those ladies were on MY bike they would be dressed, even you. Yes like you said it is your choice, but I have some say since it is MY bike. Dress right or stay home and make me a sandwich!

I'm wondering if it's the VMax or the Buell that turned you into such a douche.

Dude, do you even ride a motorcycle?

Dragging knee in full leathers at a relatively slow (i.e. not race) pace is safer by far than commuting on , say, the i95. By the way, cornering at that speed is actually made SAFER by dragging a knee, but I don't guess you care to know anything about high performance riding

It's ok not to like things.

But don't be a dick about it
You must be from CA! "the" i95?

BTW That can be a scarey road!

Jim

On the topic of female riders, this is probably 205 but I thought I would add it.

This woman (although apparently quite competent) has made the adult decision to ride in a t-shirt with no gloves.

QUICK! Some geezer on an ultra classic knock her down and teach her her place!

Yes, hitting something sucks but even the most skilled riders riding down a straight road with great sight and a perfect bike might have someone pull out in front of them or a deer or something else. there are some things that are even beyond oour control, everything we do is a risk, yes even riding a motorcycle. How much risk are you willing to take?

calm down, what I said was "If you cannot stop in your sight line, you are going to fast " - I didn't say he could not stop in his sight line - but if he can't, would you agree that he is going to fast?

How much risk am I willing to take? Well, let's see. A few years ago I was out scratching corners on a curvy piece of tarmac I know very well. I have been riding it for 40 years! There's this one particular right hander where the road goes into the trees and climbs hard. Great curve, that one. Anyway, on this particular day I came hard into this curve and found three little kids on bicycles riding down the hill! I was barley able to stand the bike up and put it between two of them, never had a chance to slow down. I barely missed a head on collision with a 10 year old. Now I was pissed, and I was scared, and I was mostly wanting to grab some negligent parent by the throat and ask them why they let their kids play in the highway.

I'm not willing to risk the life of a child. I'm not willing to risk anyone else's life, or their health. I'm not willing to cripple some one, not even me.

I was riding beyond my line of sight that day. I was counting on the road being clear of obstacles, just as it had been a thousand times before. I was wrong, and I nearly killed someone as a result of my error. Now at the time, I didn't think it was my error, but it was. All we can control is ourselves and our own actions.
