And don't forget the sissy bar that was a good functional luggage rack.

come to south Florida where the closest thing to a curve is when you get on and off Florida's Turnpike!!!

Back in the late 70's a friend of mine used to ride in retired fire department turnout gear with the heavy insulating liners removed. It was an interesting look and definitely high viz since we had yellow gear. I don't know how well Nomex holds up to road rash but he was ready in case the gas tank blew up.

Late 60's. When I used to ride the 150 miles home from college in the winter, my riding gear was EVERY BIT OF CLOTHING I OWNED !!!!

Those crash bars came in handy as I dropped it twice. The 2nd time it wouldn't start afterwards, I walked around it puzzlin', then noticed that the megaphone tail pipe was stuffed full of grass/mud (it had slid backwards into a grassy bank). Dug it out and off I went !! *grins*

"on the road" isn't that hard of a concept to grasp.

The "road" where one would ride a street bike primarily.

Not "US 129" which is a road.

Yup, Tennessee, it's definitely the bikes that are the problem.
