he probably bounced his head off the road. I had a crash last year and it tore the visor off my helmet AND removed my glasses. I never knew it until I realized I didn't have my glasses on. Fortunately someone found them for me.

In the first pic, I think we can see the rear brake lever, and if that is the lever, his foot isn't even on it.

I think it isn't the lever. He has the rear wheel sliding and the clutch fully in with all four fingers. If it is the rear brake lever, perhaps this is that very moment of transition where he is supposed to be spinning up the rear wheel to maintain a controlled slide and failed to skillfully do it.

OR,

perhaps he PLANNED to crash in front of the camera.

if he did lose controlm he should learn to ride. as it looks like he locked the back end and high sided off. it would of been better for him to have been hard on the front brake .

I don't think that thing is the rear brake lever.... if we are looking at the same thing, it looks like a breather tube

I don't think his foot is on the brake pedal in the first picture, but if you look at the long skid mark already in progress, you can figure he probably locked the rear prior to the picture being taken. It was then sideways enough to continue leaving the tire marks and tire smoke. My Hypermotard rear brake was too touchy originally, but it is possible to adjust the linkage and pedal positioning to make it less so.

As noted, he does have the clutch lever pulled in, but he is using the front brake. That's probably why the front tire washed out prior to a high-side. I'd like to know how the Termignoni 2-1 can faired after this crash - I haven't crash tested mine, but it doesn't look like it would hold up to well.

You can see in the early shots that the visor is up part-way before the crash; it doesn't take much to pop it open further as seen in the last shot. I also have had a fully snapped shut shield pop open, and send my glasses flying at Turn 1 of the old Loudon track.

I'm with you. I did not catch which side of the road they were on until you said something.

Atchully, my first thought was "are her shorts fabric, or are they painted on?" and then I noticed the double-yellow drift...
