Is it stupid? YEP! Can you get injured or killed? YEP! Everything we do has a risk vs benefit to it. Is riding a motorcycle more dangerous than riding in a car? YEP! Is riding without ATGATT more dangerous than with? YEP! So instead of bashing people with your opinions about how people should ride or what gear to wear remember this; how would you feel if someone told you what you had to ride or wear while you ride.

Final rant; if you choose to ride like an idiot and meet a cage head on and you were left of center. Inform your riding partners beforehand to not be pissy with the people in the cage if they were on their side of the road. Most people have trouble dealing with the fact that they had no chance to swerve to avoid the person on the bike when they hit head on. While you get pronounced dead at the scene or flown to a trauma center, or maybe just minor injuries.(hopefully) Your friends and the people you hit have to deal with the consequences of your actions. End rant.
What's the point of riding a curvy road if all you want to do is straighten it out? There are plenty of boring straight roads around.

Actually, that IS correct foot placement on the peg.

See Nick Ienatsch's Sport Riding Techniques, pg 44

I will have to defer to your superior knowledge as I've never actually needed a file cake

I wonder if those advocating LOC have ever ridden the Dragon? It's VERY tight and technical. I was just there Saturday. So what happens if two LOC guys happen to meet while going in opposite directions? Are you going to pass on the right?

Have you considered the risk you may be posing to others? You may be paying for both sides of the road, but you have no right to cause a head on collision with another bike, car, or anyone else.

I understand the LOC argument when there is good visibility around the turn, but there is a VERY LIMITED sight line on this road. Anyone LOC here is a FAIL.

BTW, I came into a right hand curve and met a pickup going the other way, and he was taking his half out of the middle. I had to adjust my line in order to get to go home to my family...

Crossing the center line anywhere on purpose is stupid. Pray you don't run into my minivan as you ride on the wrong side of the road. If your dumb ass causes injury to one of my kids, well, let's say that you should hope the accident kills you.

I hate passing zones too.

Looks like he has the bass reflex ports ducted back through the windshield so he at least read a magazine article on speaker enclosure design before he undertook the unfortunate looking project. He might have a 2,000 watt Crown amp strapped on there somewhere.

It's legal in my state...sometimes I'll cross the center line to give a pedestrian or bicyclist a little more room.

Makes the Dragon look like an interstate.

These riders are on it early spring/last winter. They are wise to go slowly because there are large patches of fine gravel and sand in damn near every turn.

Car POV

Nearby, xxxxxxxxxxxxx Road is not for the faint of heart either.
Paved-kinda, off camber, decreasing radius, gravel strewn, un-graded tertiary mountain back road. Nothing fast about it.

I'd not recommend you go there if you want easy and predictable.

Please Gwen, we don't need no Virginia Dragons.
