English is mandatory in Israel

People in Israel learn English at school from 4th grade.
so, most of the people should be able to speak English at some level, also signs (as you can see in the pictures) are written in Hebrew-English-Arabic.
So, sure no problem.

Cool, then the only issue is that when I visit I may not wish to leave, but my wife is not hip on emigrating there.

how did I manage to miss this! Great pics.

To whomever needs gear, I ship my mother off to Israel yearly I could always throw a care package together if you guys need some gear.

Someone mentioned that bikes are illegal in Jordan, but there is a company that arranges motorcycle tours based in Jordan, they even take you through Israel.

With the current economy I was thinking that now would be the perfect time to make aliyah. I haven't been "home" in over 10 years.

Have lots of friends who have made aliyah over the past couple of years, one very recently. Not sure how the Oleh importing policy goes these days or if its too late for him to bring something in but he does not currently have the funds to buy a bike, so if he can use his oleh benefits to hook one of you guys up with a bike from the states cheaper than I'm sure he'd be down with it.

Oh, I used to work with ZIM (you know, those big ships with the containers in Haifa). I'm sure I could figure out a way to smuggle a KTM or 3 into a container.....

Back to the pictures........

Goodbye.

Dear friends, devoted readers and fellow riders!
When I first opened this thread 8 months ago, I thought it is important that people worlwide will have the chance to know my little country.
Israel is a country often spoken about in the news, usually in negative context .
I wanted to bring the real life and reality of Israel through the world of riding.

Unfortunately, This thread cannot maintian progress due to the fact that it holds many short stories rather than one long report, and therefore violates the forum rules.

At the moment we are looking for ways to continue bring the views and stories from this land in a way that will be in line with this forum rules.

In the risk of missing someone, I wanted to thank all the people who contributed this thread and supported us, especially Lukasteam, Joel_O, Nave, C881, Rockjohn, Bunsai Elephant, 2on2off, n.o.e, merkado.
This thread is made of short rides, but eventually it's one big adventure. This could happened thanks to all of the group members :VavooRR, leviathan, abat, Etenere, NAT, and of course Shira.

Hope to read your posts and comments soon!
Yours,
Goride.
