Guess which of those bike we can get in the US? None of them, of course. The motorcycle gods must be smiling down on Israel.

How about some pics from Nes-Harim and Bar-Ba'Har? There are some really great dirt roads around there too!

Few weeks ago, my friends and I decided we want to visit the far north. It is now winter, and north should be
covered with snow. While temperture in the costal plain are about 18C, at the north they should drop down as 0C.
In Israel it is summer most of the year, so we are not equipped with the highest level of winter riding gear.
We all met on the way north on the costal road. In this picture you can see Reut still with Rastas.

Avi came with his AT.

After saying hallo for 45min, we started to ride to Afula. Just before arriving the city, we toke off the highway to
the Gilbo'a scenery road. The curvy, norrow road goes between green fields, up to Abirim mount.
The road follows the 1949 armistice agreemnet line.

coffee break on Abirim nount:

view of the Izrael Vally :

Weather was warm. Coffee was tasty. We where just on the begining of our trip, and everybody was smiling.
Shira as always:

Also Reut was happy more than usual....

and then, Avi discovered that his fuel pump just blown out. lucky we still had coffee
Fuel tank was removed, and Avi start working on his bike.

20Min after, fuel tank was reconnect, bike was ready, and we could continue riding.

We rode in the forest path, until we found the road again. It become really warm. In the next picture you can
see all the gang: from right to left, it's Shira with the Transalp, Yakov with the CB500 (soon changing to some
dirt bike... ) , my bike, then Avi's AT and Yoav's Varadero.

We continue riding north to Beit-Shean on the main road (No. 90). 4 KM before, my bike reached 100,000K's!!! So
we all stopped to celebrate the moment, and to salute the bike, that traveled this distance without knowing fear!
Like a brand new bike!

Reut and Shira looked for any reason to sit down from the bikes.

more soon

Sorry for the break.
We have just celebrated Israel's independence day. So the last 3 days were spent in singing, drinking and dancing.

We rode the gravel of the Izrael Vally, heading Beit-Shean.

We crossed few streams

and handled well with the mud...

We toke road 90 and rode up north.

this is Avi, with his huge magnetic tank bag full with good stuff to eat later...

and Shira, smailing as ever:

2 hours after passing Beit-Shean, we hit road 98 going up on the east side of the Golan heights, just next to the border with syria. This road is great, very curvy, giving a good look at the syrian side.

and with these clear sky, mount Hermon - highest mount in Israel - can be seen.

Thank you Cruvi for your pictures. I'll continue now woth my story of riding to the Golan Heights and Hermon mount.
In this time of year, everything is green and streams are flooded. within 4 months, nothing of this will remain and everything turns yellow.

in 1967 and 1973, battles were fought in the Golan Heights between Israel and Syria during the 6 days war and Yom-Kipur war. Many tanks wreck are scattered as memorials along the way.

We decided to ride up to Bnei-Resen mount to have a look at Syria. The border pass just next to that mountain slops. On the top, wind turbins provide electricity to Alone-Habashan sattlement nearby.

My humble donation to this wonderfull thread...

Ok, here goes another israeli rider... (Hope im nt hijacking your thread...)

I've put togheter a selection from my collection, from various seasons of the year and regions of the country, I'll spare you from all the geogrphic lectures and let the pictures do the talking.

Truth be told, I've stumbled upon this thread for the first time today and do not know anyone of all other "Israeli explorers...."

It just might be that I had to "surf" accross the globe to find more Israeli riders with riding style, bikes, and locations that are just the same as I like... (That,if the "explorers" will let me in their group... )
