Looks like a great trip. Taco, I shoulda come. Rats. Remind me to listen to you more
I was hoping it was a heading East route (*) but I see it was pretty much SSW. (*) Friend and I are thinking of leaving our bikes in Bend and riding to Pullman, WA (Wed/Thu/Fri) get there Fri night. Return Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed. Thinking NE route from Bend to get us towards Enterprise and a South route back from Pullman (towards Steins) then West back to Bend. Anyone got any route recommendations? Nothing too gnarly. Thinking early June. Better, GPS tracks. I'm either gonna bring my 625SXC or 450. |

Oregon Rocks....
Great Ride Report....
I've heard lots of war stories from my wife Patty about that area....Seems back in the days when she was a student at COCC in Bend, she had a class that required a couple field trips out there to look at Rocks... We both miss the area....Can't wait to get back soon for some riding..... Bill |

Tony, at you least you can't say you weren't invited. And yes, you should've listened to me but take heart, nobody else listens to me either. Going to Pullman in June? For graduation at Wazzu? You may have significant slabbage involved so I'd take the 625. Kurt W. on this trip took his 640A and felt it really worked good. |

Encouragment to "get out there!"
Just want to add one more thought to this report. Above my avatar pic it says "wannabe adventurer". For all of you who read these reports (like me) but never do a big, all-day, multi 100 mile ride or multi day ride, I want you to just do it! I've read many reports and saw the pics and wished it were me.
This time it was me! I can't do this very often but, I will do it again. So should you. |

I think I just have one pic from the second group of 4 that turned around at Paisley, 60 miles of slab to Silver Lake, then 70+ gravel putting us right back into Bend on China Hat Rd, which was a blast.
Unfortunately my XRR started sucking an excessive amount of gas the last leg of the trip (<10MPG) I had to siphon gas twice, thanks Randal and thanks Greg, I wouldn't have made it home without you guys. Here we are at my second pit stop for gas. ![]() I had a great time on the ride, I learned a lot from all the experienced riders (who seriously rip.) Hopefully we can all make it out again, maybe in a different direction! |
