Well, that is cool Doc. Glad to know your part of the fold! If you have been in the Springdale office then more than likely I have seen ya. Usually there most everyday unless I am, er, traveling, uh, playing hookie, uh I mean visiting with customers...

Ripper,

The bike is bone yard stock. It looks just like it did when it rolled of the showroom floor in 01. I have heard about those mods and am very interested in doing them. Are the carb mods as trustworthy as factory? I read where you have to do the drilling and stuff yourself which is not a problem as I have a garage full of tools and have done that kind of stuff my whole like. Just wanted to know if a different carb would get the same effect....

I would be in for the rides but would need to head home in the evenings. With the bike and all the gear that I want, I don't think the boss would let me spend any more money for a bit.

How long does it take to get to WR from your place? Like i said, I am in for the ride but this time I will pass on everything else.

Drilling the holes out, allows the piston(slide) to move faster. Thus quicker throttle response. The washer raises the needle position, like the clip on other carbs (Like 2 smokes). Removing the stop on the idle air screw allows running adjustment.Yes, a $450 Keihen pumper carb will do better. But is it worth it? Daves mod, and a UNI air filter are the shizzny. Could tell the difference RIGHT NOW!

More trustworthy than factory. Factory had emissions to meet. Then must lean it out to do it. You dont have that restriction. So you richen it up a little, stop the leaning damage and gain power at the same time.

Now you have my attention. Is there a kit or something that you buy to go with it? I will search for it and check it out more.......

I would like to see what it would really do. It already is pretty peppy....
