British Bike Fest - Ames Ia

Well, it's that time again. The Mucky Duck pub are having their yearly partee. It's a smallish event, but fun. Bands, food, beer, and they invite you to bring your bike. All makes welcome - it's called a British Bike gathering in the hopes that there will be a decent turn out by British Marques, and there usually is.

September 6th.

Great fish and chips at this place.

The Dragoon Trail traces the Des Moines River from Ft. Dodge to Knoxville, but to get to Ames, you'd want to quit at Boone. There isn't an official map, but there are signs along the route.

Rode part of that from Des Moines up to Fort Dodge last year. If you are cool with gravel it has some nice stretches.

It's a fairly small event, but the more that attend..........the better it will be going forward.

I'll be in Ames that day for Iowa State's game against K-State (which also kicks off at 11am). But no bike that day, a tad hard to tailgate on a KLR but I'll swing buy after the game for some fish 'n chips.

Hmm, I always like to visit ISU. If I'm free I'll pop on down.

I have the dragoon trail and a gravel ride that runs from the cities to Ames in the link in my signature.
