Well howdy neighbor!

Thinking of getting something together for late January or early February if a nice weekend comes up... maybe an overnight camp down 19 south of Winona by the Eleven Point, or there's a nice campground way in the back at McCormick Lake.

Ever been down that way? Lots of great forest roads through Wilderness around there.

I will try to stop by. I am working up there next month some. You in on Weekends? What are your weekend and weekday hours? I work 7-7 there but if wx has us down I can pop next door.

Yeah I miss the good ole days when as Lee Iacocca put it, "america was being run by a bunch of corporate thugs".

Eleven Point area campground

McCormick lake does have some nice camping spots and is more quiet than Greer's spring and others in the area. Just picked up a wr250, and would like to camp and ride some roads down that way.

Yeah if you go past the main parking lot at McCormick and keep going around, there's a real nice secluded campground with picnic tables and fire rings, I hardly ever see anybody there.
Then if you keep going around towards the dam, there's miles of gnarly trails back there. I've gone down some with the DR, rough going for a 650 but your new 250 should be fun.
The Wilderness is to the east of 19 not far from there, and that's a lot of fun too. There's some real nice forest roads, and a few backwoods homesteads, one place I know has fresh goat's milk for sale... now that really hits the spot after a few hours dusty riding!

So where ya from? Winona?

stl native here

Ride and camp down that way quite a bit in season. Now that I have a more dirt capable bike, plan on heading down that way, camping, and exploring. Always float the eleven point at least once a year, jacks fork, current, and buffalo. Love missouri streams, just not crossing them with the vstrom...

Next time you're down this way give me a holler... if you're trailering the 250 down from St. Looey you can park on our place. The river is just down the road, right in the heart of the Eleven Point area.

You know, I've floated teh Current, Jack's Fork, Black, White, Elk, Big and Little Sugar and never once been on the 11 point. It's on my to do list this year.
