need to get you guys in on twitter! We use it down here to alert other local ADVrs that help is needed, and it seems to work pretty good..send one text and 15-20 guys will get it and if anyone can respond with a trailer, everyone knows who it will be and no one is left guessing if help is on the way...and thats all we use twitter for..we have no use for the other crap on twitter..think of it as a world wide repeater

So can a guy show up just to watch the cluster fuck, I mean rescue happen. Have beer will travel.

It does sound like a good idea for those with smart phones, one day maybe I'll get one.

you really dont need a smart phone..just gots to be able to send and receive texts..unlimited texts are best or at least be able to do abt 500 to 1000 texts at a resonable price..and the neat thing abt twitter is, you can turn on (control) who can send a text to your cell..and someone sends more than you really care for, all you do is go to his profile and TURN OFF tweets and problem solved.

The short of it is, set up a twitter acct (free) on your pooter, be sure to register /enter your cell number..then search for the guys you ride will..and in their profile, you can TURN ON tweets and when they send a text thru twitter, it will go to your cell and anyone elses that they have allowed.

In my contacts, I have renamed TWITTER to ADV..that way, any of the guys sending a text via twitter, it shows up as ADV..its really pretty simple and cool

you guys could build a SWMO network of ADVrs and do kinda like what we do down here..we use it to ask who wants to go for a ride or make a lunch date or beer swill..as I said, it work quite well.

One thing tho, if you are so into twitter that you tweet or retweet ALOT, might want to create a SEPARATE ADV username so that others are not pesterd by excessive mindles crap than isnt adv related

...or do as I do, I turn off their tweets to my cell

I set up a twitter account a year ago, but not used it! But I like the idea!

2 inch roofing nail spoiled my get away from work for an hour turned into a 4 hour of fun!

This oh boy offered me a beer since he didn't have plug or air!

if you want, you can test it thru me just to see how it works and if you can talk your guys up there into doing it, then you just remove me and y'all have at it..to kinda get a better idea, you should probably add a few of us down here and after the test, just turn us off..let me know if you are interested and we can try and talk you thru it

did it work? it will only work IF they both turn on tweets from you and you have to be following them and have their tweets also turned on..thats what is so neat abt this is, everyone has to be willing and go thru the steps to make it work..good luck
