Besides, Tony's bike is too clean-- means it has'nt been ridden 'seriously'

Must ad that most of my machines were pre-owned(abused) or pre-pre-pre owned. The spectrum was pretty broad too. For a idea, one of my bikes was a Honda QA 50...........................

Hey that was the first motorcycle I ever rode! Way way back in '76 (dang I'm gettin' old) my cousin had one of those and I got a chance to ride it around the yard. Here's what I looked like: I was hooked then and there. Had to wait 4 more years before my dad bought me a little Yamaha 60 2-smoker. Here it is 29 years later and motorcycles still bring me that same joy they brought me back then.

For me, riding just never gets old.

Seriously? I bought my XRR for less than that dude is asking, and it has the "better forks." It's got an engine, too. I'll go on record here as saying that I just don't "get" the DR 350 thing. Not that it's a bad bike, but I don't understand the cult following. Why not just get a DRZ?

If the 350 i bought does not live up to expectations/requirements, off it goes. DRZ or something of its ilk would be the likely next step.

As Mug explained to me at camp, the DR350 is air cooled. No coolant leaks and busted radiators to worry with. Hence, greater reliability. I can't argue with that.

As a happy DRZ owner, I've gotta admit that liquid cooling brings with it additional parts to break, and they do break, although infrequently. It's one (well, actually 4--radiator, hoses, waterpump, thermostat) more thing to go wrong out in the middle of BFE. To quote noted aircraft designer C.G. Taylor, "any part you leave out can't break."

And don't forget that the DR350 has that all-important 6th gear, the lack of which is the DRZ's biggest downfall, IMO--and I'm not the only one who feels that way. I still can't figure out why Suzuki decided to hamstring the bike with a close-ratio 5-speed. They coulda used the 5-speed for the E model and given the S a wide-ratio 6-speed, or at the very least a taller 5th gear.

So, I read the WRR thread and realized it is not for me. I have a back and forth to work ride with big windshield and lots of storage. If I wanted something for exploring on the weekends and didn't want to have to drive to GA to buy the 400E for sale their: how about this?
